BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend!

An incredible range of performers took to the stage this weekend for BBC 1’s Big Weekend, with surprise performances from some of the worlds biggest stars right on our doorstep.

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend came to Liverpool for a spectacular showcase of musical talent, leaving audiences in awe over the bank holiday weekend. This highly anticipated event, held at Sefton Park, brought together a diverse line up of artists from various genres, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The atmosphere was nothing short of electric, with concert-goers soaking up not only the phenomenal music but also the vibrant and lively energy that Liverpool is known for.

There were four stages placed around the park, which welcomed music industry heavyweights and up-and-coming local musicians.

. A statement from BBC 1 said: "Thank you to the city of Liverpool for hosting Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025. It was a hugely successful event, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended for making it an unforgettable weekend."

A highlight of the weekend had to be when Tom Grennan headlined on the Friday night, he decided to bring a range of local legends on stage to show the crowd how he puts on a show. Spice Girl, Mel C joined Tom on stage and ended with a touching tribute to the Hillsborough 97 tragedy.

Breakfast host, Greg James announced on Saturday morning that there would be a special guest on the New Music stage. Our team rushed over to the stage just in time to catch an incredible performance from the one and only Ed Sheeran!

Sam Fender was headlining on Saturday, he took to the stage in the rain as we watched on from the Big Wheel, we got to witness an incredible headline performance.

Rolling into Day 3 on Sunday, a personal highlight was watching Little Mix’s JADE take to the stage for her first ever solo performance. We managed to capture her incredible performance some of Little Mix’s biggest hits and her iconic solo hit ‘Angel of my Dreams’. She thanked her follow girl band members but made it known she was so happy to be performing on her own.

To end an incredible weekend of live music, Mumford & Sons headlined day 3, their family friendly set blew the crowd away and brought everyone together to end the weekend perfectly.
